From first conversation to opening day.
You're deciding whether Encore deserves your capital and your next decade. We're deciding whether you're the right operator for an exclusive territory. Here's how both decisions get made.
Six steps. No pressure tactics.
-
Request the Franchise Overview
Tell us about yourself and your market. You'll receive our overview (the model, the numbers, the opportunity), and we'll confirm basic qualification on both sides.
-
Introductory conversation
A direct call with our team, often with Chris himself at this stage of the system's growth. Bring hard questions; you'll get straight answers.
-
Receive and review the FDD
You'll receive our complete Franchise Disclosure Document. Federal law gives you at least 14 days with it before any agreement can be signed or money change hands. Take the time and read it closely, with a franchise attorney if you have one: the full picture of the opportunity is in there.
-
Visit Shreveport
Spend a day inside the flagship operation. Walk the warehouse, watch the morning meeting, ride along on a delivery if you want to. The business you're evaluating will be running all around you.
-
Territory and agreement
We define your exclusive territory, finalize the franchise agreement, and discuss development rights with qualified multi-unit operators.
-
Train, build, open
Phase I training in Shreveport, facility setup, inventory ordering from your itemized opening package, Phase II launch support in your market, and your first delivery rolls.
The questions serious candidates ask.
Do I need experience in the event industry?
No, and candidly it's not the background we look for first. Encore is an operations business: trucks, crews, schedules, inventory. Backgrounds in construction, equipment rental, logistics, distribution, and military operations translate directly. The event side is teachable; operational discipline is the hard part, and it's the part you bring.
How much does it cost, and what are the ongoing fees?
The total estimated initial investment is $450,900 to $1,111,167, including a $60,000 franchise fee, your opening inventory, vehicle, and three months of operating funds. Ongoing fees are an 8% royalty and a 1% marketing fund contribution. The complete breakdown is on our Investment page and in Item 7 of our FDD.
Can I finance the investment?
Yes. The Encore franchise has been pre-approved for SBA financing through Byline Bank, a national SBA lender that has already reviewed our model. That means qualified candidates work with a lender familiar with the business rather than starting from scratch. Pre-approval of the franchise is not a guarantee of an individual loan; each borrower is subject to the bank's own qualification and underwriting. We introduce serious candidates to our Byline contact directly during the process.
What are the financial requirements to qualify?
We look for candidates with $500,000+ in net worth and $150,000+ in liquid capital. Most candidates finance a portion of the investment; because the majority of it is tangible, revenue-producing equipment, lenders understand this asset class well.
How does financing typically work?
We don't provide financing, but you'll be working with a franchisor who understands lending from the inside: Chris's M&A advisory background includes SBA and commercial loan consulting. He'll tell you plainly whether the structure you're considering makes sense before you're committed to it.
What exactly is my territory?
An exclusive territory of approximately 250,000 to 500,000 in population or a 20-mile radius, whichever is smaller, typically defined around your location. Within it, Encore will not place another outlet, company-owned or franchised. Full terms are in Item 12 of the FDD.
Do I have to run it myself, or can I hire a manager?
Plan to be hands-on, especially in the first years. This model rewards owner-operators. The launch period is when your market learns your name, and that's not a job to delegate. Operators with the capacity for more than one territory can discuss multi-unit development rights.
How long from agreement to opening day?
It varies by market: facility lease, buildout (minimal), inventory lead times, and training scheduling are the main drivers. We'll map a realistic timeline for your specific market during the process rather than quote a one-size-fits-all number here.
Isn't event rental seasonal?
Demand follows the event calendar, and how much it swings depends on your market. Spring and Fall typically run strongest, slower stretches become windows for equipment maintenance, institutional work, and sales groundwork, and big jobs have a way of landing in any month. The model flexes with the calendar, and if you've managed variable workloads before, you already know this rhythm.
What happens when I get an order bigger than my inventory?
This is one of the structural advantages of the network: Encore locations can cross-rent inventory from each other at pre-agreed network rates. The big job gets served without handing revenue to a local competitor, and without over-buying inventory ahead of demand. As the network grows, every location's effective inventory grows with it.
Will I see financial information before I commit?
Yes. Qualified candidates who move forward receive our complete Franchise Disclosure Document, and we discuss the economics of the business directly and candidly during the process. We'd rather walk you through it in a real conversation than post our operation's figures for every competitor to study.
Why should I buy a franchise instead of starting my own rental company?
You could. The founder did, the long way. What the franchise buys you is the fifteen years of figuring it out: configured software, codified pricing, documented warehouse standards, an itemized opening inventory built from utilization data, vendor relationships, training, and a network behind you on oversized jobs. The honest math is whether those years and mistakes are worth more than the royalty. For operators who want to build fast and right the first time, they usually are.
Request the Franchise Overview.
Tell us who you are and where you'd build. Qualified candidates hear back directly, usually within two business days.
Your information is used solely to evaluate franchise candidacy and is never sold or shared with third parties.
